Hello, guys. I'm using Dell Inspiron N5110 and the webcam does not work on my ubuntu 11.10. Could you help me ? Thanks
Hello,
I just downloaded a package (Camorama Web Cam Viewer) from the repository, and all is well. That does not, however imply that I'm using similar HW, or that Ubuntu didn't automagically set up *my* drivers. It did work first try though.
Best

I have done some looking around and it seems that your machines webcam is not supported by Ubuntu and Dell does not have a driver/firmware for Linux. The only thing I could suggest is you try a newer kernel from backports or try a liquorix kernel.
Thanks. I followed your links to installed nvc . But when I typed svn checkout svn://svn.berlios.de/linux-uvc/linux-uvc/trunk in my terminal and prompted svn: No repository found in 'svn://svn.berlios.de/linux-uvc/linux-uvc'.
