Updating software?
I really love the synaptic packet manager. So incredibly easy to manage en confgure everything installed on my PC!
But what if things need to get updated.
Say for instance, Beryl 2.718 is released. Will I get a warning this happened? Will i happen automatically? Are the repositories updated automatically? Or do I need to do everything manually?
Thank You

You should be notified of any updates. I am not sure what the default polling interval is, but it seems pretty short. As a matter of fact, I am surprised you have not already seen the alert pop up, when I was running Ubuntu/Kubuntu, I don't think more than a day or two ever went by before something had an update.

Whenever you run synaptic, hit the 'reload' button in the top left hand of the window. Then go to sections and look under upgradable.
