Ubuntu 10.10: DVD playback stopped working after the upgrade

Hi;

Yesterday I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10.

I could play the particular DVD in the output below without problems yesterday. Today, totem just sits there and outputs these messages to a terminal:

Quote:
~$ totem

libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 4.1.3
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access

libdvdread: Found 3 VTS's

libdvdnav: Suspected RCE Region Protection!!!
Any ideas what I need to do to get DVD playback working again.

Video and audio are fine elsewhere.

Thanks in advance

Being that you're upgrading, wouldn't you have to change your /etc/apt/sources.list?
I myself haven't made a successful upgrade.

Eddy;

Ubuntu does those things automatically. In their upgrade mangager I had to change a menu option from long term support to regular upgrades, but that is all I remember. This is the first problem I've had with an Ubuntu upgrade in years.

I installed the VLC. I was able to play that DVD with it. Totem still can't do that and it could before the upgrade.
