Question Ubuntu 10.10 64bit graphics worse than the 32bit graphics

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody else felt that the graphics (i.e. title bar and task bar) are a lot nicer in the 32 bit version of Ubuntu 10.10. I have installed both versions on different machines, and I think that the graphics in the 32 bit look a lot nicer.

Does anybody else share this preference? Are they supposed to be different?

Thanks,
K.out

Q: What specifically do you prefer in one version vs. the other?

Q: Are there any options to customize your preferences?

PS:
I'm running the 32-bit version of Ubuntu 10.10 on my 32-bit laptop. I would have thought the 32- and 64-bit versions of the same package would have looked identical - but I guess I would have been mistaken .

Please elaborate.

I prefer the appearance of the 32 bit version. The only options availabale that I saw were in system->preferences->appearance, and that didn't seem to change what I wanted.

I also kind of expected them to appear the same. If not, I expected 64 bit to have nicer graphics. However, my version of ubuntu 10.10 64 bit has a bland grey title bar and task bar.

If you mean the difference shown in my screenshot, then that's a problem with your themes. Both are on 64-bit Ubuntu, the left one tries to use a theme engine I don't have installed (I think it's lightning, I can't remember). Is this the difference you're referring to?
