I am happy to introduce my self as a hardware engrr. from pc with fdd starting level.
i am 64 yrs and a graduate from Mysore university.
I had installed redhat 6 and after that now i am coming back to this field.

my q is why ubuntu is not working on my system with TFT monitor (celeron 2.4 Ghz 512 ram,80 GB HDD TFT Monitor)

Are you running live CD or is this an installed version? If the latter, you can use <ctrl><alt><F1..F6> to go to a terminal. Login and check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for errors (lines starting with EE).

Which videocard is in your system? And which monitor (make and model). Can you post the sections device, monitor and screen of the x configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf probably)?
