startup apps

Hi

After some update of my ubuntu lucid lynx I have strange behavior of my linux box.
During startup process after I authenticate to the system, 3 unwanted apps are started by the system :
- 2 x terminal window
- 1 X Prism - MOzilla LAbs

How can I make this to not happen ever again ?

thx for help

I suspect that the last time you shutdown you had
Quote:

running.

So gnome is trying to set your desktop as it was before you shutdown.

Not sure where the config for this is (I'm still trying to migrate from KDE3 to gnome, as KDE4 is worse than useless), but try closing those apps, logout, then login again. Hopefully, they'll be gone.

KDE3 used to have "Restore last session Y/N" or "Start a new session" or even "Start a saved session" as default options, but I cannot find the equivalent in gnome.

Hope this helps.

On Ubuntu 10.04 using Gnome, go to: system > preferences > startup applications. Then click the options tab at the top of the window. Make sure the option: Automatically remember running applications when logging out is not checked.
Also, check the Startup Programs tab in the startup applications window, and go though the list of startup programs and make sure that nothing you want to startup automatically is checked.

It is not checked.

I have checked this list but I don't see nothing wrong in this list.
My Ubuntu still behaves like before, so fires up apps that I don't want.
