Angry GNOME startup apps

This is SO irritating. I've been all over the web looking for the answer. Everything I find on the web does not match my setup.

My kids played some of those dumb games and now a couple of the damn things pop up whenever I log on using GNOME. Since this is a GNOME thing I should be able to use the GUI to fix it. The thing I have called Control Center is KDE it doesnt look or act like the GNOME ones that I see documentation for and I can't find anything in it about startup programs. The closest thing is Main->Programs->Settings->Session Properties & Startups. One of the programs shows up there only if I haven't killed it already. I say remove. It leaves the window but doesn't die. And it comes back next time I log on. Please HELP.

I'm runing RH7.3

In kde there is a tick box that keeps your current session for when you start again, I believe its in Gnome aswell.

Just shut down the apps, log out and choose "Save session". I expect they ticked that box - it restarts apps that were running last time you logged out, a very useful feature. Best to leave it on all the time.
