Does it work in Hardy? Its supposed to.

You can download the Live CD for Hardy, and see if it works out of the box. I know Gutsy 7.10, had some issues w/ various sound devices, Intel HDA devices, and the device you mention, being among them. I've been running Hardy on my desktop since the release candidate came out, and it seems to be running fine.
