Professionals don't use Microsoft products.

Since you compliant appears, to me anyway, to be against Canonical and their methods go here https://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=338 which is for

I followed the instructions which were on the page to mark it [SOLVED]

If the instructions are wrong, FIX THEM.

I think it's always easier to criticize and here is a little unfair to accuse without any proof (presumption of culpability).
So, instead, I would ask the following: Can you prove a user selecting no actually does not stop the greeter from collecting and sending information about you?

i will concede that malware and virus are not exactly the same.
