Dear friends,
I do not have much knowledge about Linux, and I am facing a problem that I can not solve! I upgraded some days ago to Ubuntu 18.04, but at the login screen my password has not been accepted. I have tryed it many times in sequence. I can however log in through
Ctrl+Alt+F2, typing my username and my password (thanks God!), and I can access my directories without any problem, but I would like to use GUI. I have already searched in internet for a solution, but nothing that I tryed worked. I remember to have used
Code:
rm ~/.Xauthority
sudo killall Xorg
or
Code:
dpkg--configure -a
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
or
among other sugestions, but nothing solved the problem.
Another important aspect that I noticed at the login screen is that the traditional buttons of
cancel and
enter (or something similar) that used to be below the username are not there anymore. There is also no option to change the username (for a guest session, for example).
I ask please for a help. If you need I can paste here the results for any commands that you may need.
Thank you very much!
