permission to acces my windows partition

i have a access denied whenever i try to access my windows partitions. I've just installed dual boot ubuntu after removing suse 10.1 which was giving me a lot of problems. Initially with suse i was able to read my windows partitions. Isn't NTFS read not supported with ubuntu. Thanks for any reply.

i believe it is, have you checked the home site about that. also, how are you trying to mount the media? ubuntu needs sudo to work as root ex: sudo mount /dev/hda like that.

Thanks for the reply but i decided to install the KDE environment and now have Kubuntu. Using kubuntu using the KDE gui system settings i was able to mount the partitions, plus i like the cool plastik desktop.
