I'm using a Mandrake 9.1 (caus e the 9.2 doesn't like my Quikckam pro3000!).
I have ext3, fat32 and ntfs partitions. I've mounted them all and everyone can read them, but only root can write in it. It's most boring with the fat32 partition! Each tim I boot I have to umount it as root, and then remount it as normal user!
There is a way to do it, although I can't fully remember off the top of my head (sorry). But since I've replied, it'll email me when you post back complaining that I was of no help. Then I might be at home and so I might be able to figure it out.
The basic premise is to unmount the partition, and chmod the mount point so that anyone can use it (which I expect you want). Then you have to set the appropriate options in /etc/fstab, which I think are something like "all,rw".
