Other Ubuntu distros

This is not a question. This is more for information.
It is bizarre but some people have spent hours making religion based versions of Ubuntu.

Christian edition (this has been stopped since the author says it takes to much time to maintain)
http://ubuntuce.com/

There is a muslim edition :
http://www.sabily.org/website/index....&id=2&Itemid=9

and there is a Satan version :
http://ubuntusatanic.org/installation.php

I'm sure there are other nutty distos as well that nobody will want to install...unless you are a squirrel.

heh, I run ubuntu-SE, not 'cause I'm a devil-worshiper, but cause it has gtk2-aurora
and nice wallpapers and heavy metal tunes built in.
It also runs very well.

I'd use Ubuntu-S.E., it's too cool, and it was the first "ubuntu-religious" distro...Any way, people lost their time building religious versions of ubuntu because they're fanatics Do you know how many distros derive from "The Church of SubGenius" religion? Slackware should be one of them... It's funny and cool...

EDIT: I was looking at the Ubuntu-C.S. Edition's screenshots, and the porn websites are locked WT* is that? :| I don't believe in it...You can't lock this kind of website We need that stuff...Ok, I disappear...

I don't see why you claim it was a waste of the distribution creator's time to create said distributions. It might not make sense to you but that does not mean it does not make sense to anyone else. I know "nowadays" it is cool to be against religion, believers and their practices. In any case, I don't wish to turn this into a debate, especially since I'm not willing to sustain any given side. For what it is worth, I can find many other worse reasons to create a distribution.

Hmmm... Can't recall the last time I saw a squirrel practicing religion...

Oh, BTW- Exactly what part of your post do you consider 'useful information'?? Looks more like an enticement for a religious flame war to me.

Yeah, this really isn't useful at all. One of the cornerstones of the the whole movement is "choice". This is why there are so many different distros available - just because you don't find them useful doesn't mean that they aren't useful. What's happened here is that someone has created something for a specific audience.

I'm closing this because we don't do anti-squirrel movements on LQ. If you search the posts of the mods and of Jeremy I think you'll find that we're a very pro-squirrel site.
