[SOLVED] Installing OpenOffice on Ubuntu 11.10.

I am a newbie and I have just installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my HP G42 laptop.There are a lot of programs that can be installed with the Ubuntu Software Center. The distro comes with LibreOffice pre-installed. I would prefer to have OpenOffice suite installed instead but it can not be installed via the Ubuntu Software Center. Could someone please give me step by step instruction how to download and install OpenOffice.

Not sure why you want OO, instead of Liber Office. Liber is a fork of OO, runs faster, does everything OO does.

You need Java installed before you install either. If you install Liber, Synaptics should look after Java at the same time.
