install mysql,php en ubuntu 5.1

Hi, I am currently using ubuntu 5.10 (one CD) and it appears that mysql and php donīt come in the CD, so I try to download those packages from the web, so I tried to install them using "dpkg -i mysql...." but I needed more "dependencies" to download, but after I try to install some packages (stdc++, perlclientoff, etc), obviously They didnīt work because they need more dependencies, so my questions are:

1. After that OpenOffice and some other apps donīt work, I presume that is because the packages donīt installa correclty, but How can I step back to cancel these bad install packages? because I donīt want to reinstall openoffice.

2. Can you give some tips for install php and mysql in ubuntu?, I dindīt find mysql and php in DEB packages formats.

thanks

Why don't you use apt-get or synaptic to install PHP and mysql? Both will take care of dependences for you?
