install mysql,php en ubuntu 5.1
 

Hi, I am currently using ubuntu 5.10 (one CD) and it appears that mysql and php don´t come in the CD, so I try to download those packages from the web, so I tried to install them using "dpkg -i mysql...." but I needed more "dependencies" to download, but after I try to install some packages (stdc++, perlclientoff, etc), obviously They didn´t work because they need more dependencies, so my questions are:

1. After that OpenOffice and some other apps don´t work, I presume that is because the packages don´t installa correclty, but How can I step back to cancel these bad install packages? because I don´t want to reinstall openoffice.

2. Can you give some tips for install php and mysql in ubuntu?, I dind´t find mysql and php in DEB packages formats.

Why don't you use apt-get or synaptic to install PHP and mysql? Both will take care of dependences for you?
