How To Install Ubuntu to replace Crunchbang

Hi,

I am currently using Crunchbang as my operating system. I would like to switch to Ubuntu. I don't want to keep Crunchbang at all, and have already backed up all my files. What is the best way to go about switching?

Just install it to the same partition or partitions you are currently using for Crunchbang. I'm not sure what you mean by "best way"? You download the Ubuntu iso, run the md5checksum to verify the download, burn it to a CD or DVD or put it on a flash drive and boot with it. You might check the Ubuntu Hardware Compatibility list to see if your hardware will work. There shouldn't really be any difference in the time it takes to install. You might define what you mean by "best".

It's also a duplicate thread - OP, please post your question once in one area.
