you can find a lot of info about the how-to on the net. So probably yes.

What is the model number of your Asus? Some thing running Waldorf would assume it is an older computer and Ubuntu may not be the best choice.

robman75,

Ubuntu is far too heavy for your Asus EeePC.

Try MX Linux 32-bit from:
https://mxlinux.org/download-links/

This link may help:

Ubuntu should run on an eee-pc. Debian runs fine on mine. You just need to use a lightweight desktop environment. I use Xfce. TBH I don't use the eee-pc very much, because I have better computers available, but if that's what one has, it does work. It's not the distro, it's the desktop environment that matters.

You need to find out whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit. If the model number begins with a 7-, it's 32-bit. If it's 1000 or higher, then it's 64-bit. If it begins with a 9-, it could be either, so search the model number on-line to check.

If it's 32-bit, there's no sense in using any Ubuntu variant as they are dropping 32-bit versions — in that case, try MX. If it's 64-bit, then Xubuntu should be fine.
