Firefox freezes sometime on attempt to move using mouse

Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS, IceWM. Latest FF downloaded from mozilla website. System does not receive any mouse click (Left, R.). I can't switch to another application (using mouse or keyboard). I had to close FF using Alt-F4 key. System works usualy since then. Any idea please ?

Code:
maketopsite@ub:~$ apulse /media/maketopsite/tmp/ff/firefox/firefox --profile ~/delete
[GFX1-]: GFX: RenderThread detected a device reset in PostUpdate
maketopsite@ub:~$
Edit: Optimus laptop, latest NVIDIA proprietary drivers installed, Xorg.

I have several ideas. I'm not sure how good they are, but they're what I would likely do.

Check the log files, particularly /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Admittedly, a long shot, since oftentimes a freeze also freezes will prevent error messages because, well, the system/application is frozen.

Try opening Firefox from a terminal. Perhaps it will throw some error message to the terminal. Also a long shot, for the reason mentioned above.

Install another browser from the Ubuntu repos (Brave? Vivaldi?) and see whether you get the same issue.

Remove Firefox, then install the version from the Ubuntu repos and see whether you get the same issue.

So it has never worked?
Can you CTRL-ALT-F (some key) key to shells?

No ideas, but poking around with xev or xinput may give you some.

I've already done that - see first post

No such problem with Brave, Palemoon.

I can usually close FF by Alt-F4 and start again and everything seems to be OK.

I did not try CTRL-ALT-F. Problem did not appear since I created this thread.

Have you tried dropping to a tty terminal and executing the free -h command to check how much free memory that you have, as this seems to me to be possible case of a simple issues such as low system memory resources.

The only suggestion I can come up with at this point is check the repos and see whether they have the same version of FF. If they don't, perhaps you might try FF from the repos, in case it is a version-related issue.

I watch free RAM almost constantly using conky when something strange happens and there is always enough free RAM. PC would become unresponsive for many hours in other case.

Thank you that's good thing to do. But I would like to use different firefox binaries for different tasks. So I need at least one downloaded FF version.
