Hi,
I have Ubuntu 7.04 installed on my system. My computer is an AMD Sempron 1.8GHz with 1 GB of ram. Ubuntu only runs at 800MHz, every now and then it jumps to the full 1.8. Any ideas
Off the top of my head.......is this a laptop? If so, I imagine that Feisty is saving you power ie you don't need the full 1.8gGHz so it is not using it. It's used when needed. Try opening OpenOffice and doing lots of other stuff at the same time. Watch the cpu.....
Try this applet. It will allow you to make changes to how your CPU functions. Mine behaves the same way as yours. It's using the "on demand" function whereby saving energy. I can switch my CPU to "Performance" and it will max out the CPU. It sounds like you just want to keep it configured for "Performance"
