error while trying to burn CDs using gnome-baker

Hi,
I am running Ubuntu 8.04.1 on my Acer Aspire 5100 Laptop, with 512 MB DDR2 RAM, which comes with a DVD writer - that is recognised by wodim as dev='/dev/hda' : MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S.
I have been unsuccessful in burning CDs using either Brasero or Gnome-Baker. Gnome baker gives the following error message -

Any idea how this can be sorted out?

That seems awfully high for a DVD write speed. Check the maximum write sped on both your DVD media and your MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S. You may have to set a lower write speed in Brasero or Gnome-Baker.
