Gnome Baker wont work
hi guys.. hope someone can help me... i want to burn cd using gnome and these error keeps popping...

but if i use k3b it can burn the cd. is it a permission problem? the owner of my device is root. and im trying to burn as user. please help.

check your configuration for gnomebaker and make sure that it says dev=/dev/hdc

but my burning tool is hda. what does that config does anyway?

Have you updated cdrtools since you made default installation? What version of gnome are you using? You could try downloading and reinstalling cdrtools from official Slackware mirror.

im running gnome version 2.12.3
im still in the process of updating to the slackware current still not finished downloading pkgs. can someone tell me whats the problem with my setup? why i can burn from k3b but i cant bake from gnomebaker?

I think gnomebaker is giving a command which isn't supported/deprecated with your version of cdrtools. When asking version, I meant is it dropline, or gware, or freerock gnome. Try updating cdrtools from current.

hmmm.. i have checked my cdrtools version and its up to date. so i think thats not the problem. any more ideas?

Check if your frg is also up to date. I'm using dropline and baker works normally for me. What is version (number) of your baker?
P.S. You can also use graveman, which is also for gnome.

my frg version is frg-current. so i dont think that this is the problem. my gnomebaker version is 0.5.1. if this wont be solved ill check graveman. thanks.

Don't know either cause my baker version is the same. Maybe somebody else could point out why gnome baker is not working for you.

Just tried baker to burn some photos into cd. It worked fine. It's really strange why k3b is working and others don't.
Post your /dev/cdrom and /dev/hda permissions.
