Cursor Selection Does not work

My ubuntu does not allow cursor selection,
under system-preferences-cursor selection,
the windows pops up but when i choose a particular cursor type, it does not take effect.
Why? How to solve it?

Did you clicked apply?

maybe got defect in my ubuntu ultimate,
anyway this is not critical

very weird, can not change cursor.
