ok, got ubuntu loaded, got the update figured out. so now i've been playing around a bit trying to set it up how i think i want it. I have the little system monitor on the top panel( for no other reason then i think it looks cool with the little blue line going up and down).
I went to watch a you tube vid and it was really choppy so i stopped it playing to let it down load ahead of the player. completely loaded and its still choppy then i noticed the blue line riding high so i clicked on it and watched CPU usage shoot to 100% and memory barely move. shouldn't the memory go up alot as well? thats what i thought the Ram was there for. It went from 196 Mib to 210 Mib usage. whats the "i" for?
This is a older machine but its Cpu isnt much slower then my netbook and its running that dang vista basic :>( netbook is running atom 1.33Ghz that is 1330 Mhz right? not much faster. I dont have choppy vids or graphics with it. I went to Acers web page to find the CPU speed on the netbook and the page was a little choppy as well.
I'm i making to much of this? or do i just need to find the right tweek to get it to smooth out?
