Configure Ubuntu 5.10 with VIA VT6421 RAID controller

For the past couple months I've been slowly migrating all of my systems to Linux, however, my main desktop system has trouble when installing it. I have a VIA VT6421 RAID controller card, and two SATA wester digital 7200rpm hard disks conntect to it in RAID(0). The problem is that when I try to install Ubuntu on the system, it only detects the two disks seperatly, and not as one. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Or has anyone had a similiar problem and fo und a work-around for it?
