Even Ubuntu are warning against using Ultimatix now.

Assuming Gnome, you might find the Epiphany browser superior in every way ... Bookmarking technique takes a little getting used to. There is also a webkit version under heavy development, but not quite ready for prime time. When it is, Firefox/Iceweasel will be completely obsolete.

Thanks for the tip, I've never tried Epiphany. Yes, I went for the desktop option rather than building it up bit by bit. I'm pleased with the result. Slackware's still my all-out favourite, but Debian is a damn close second. I like the contrast the two distros offer.

We seem to have more or less hijacked this thread.
