LXer: Tux500: Why This Matters

I've been at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, covering action for Tux500 for the last several days. I've seen the crowd that is walking around the garage area, the crowd that is milling around on Pit Lane, the fan that is sitting in the stands. I'm here observing the reaction to Tux and to Linux.

This is very cool and well done to all concerned - I hope the car does well in the upcoming races.

I just hope it qualifies for the race. Assuming that happens, all the naysayers and penny-pinchers who have not contributed in any positive way to this project, deserve a vigorous and public rebuke. If Helios doesn't do it, I hope lots of others do.
