hi everyone, i'm the new guy to suse
i need yast sources, who can give me some ?
then, i found some yast sources, but i don't know how to add it to my installation sources list. when i add the FTP/HTTP sources, the system just gave me a error message looks like'can't find the url, try again?' but i can browse the url in my browser, who can tell me why ?
If you look in the Suse forum (on this site), you will see a sticky thread regarding opensuse YAST repos. I am sure you will get the information you need from that thread.
thanks my friend.
unfortunately,my english is not that good to help myself to find the answer in the sticky thread
i tried, but all of the URLs all for suse10 beta1,, my version is suse 10(not beta),i dont know where to find the sources.
by the way,is there any text mode tool(s) can instead the YaST ? (just like yum can instead UP2DATE in fedora core) cos graphic mode tools are very slow, usually hangs.
haha,,i did it, i added more than 5 urls into the source list.
but another question is coming-- how to install the software witch is i needed?
i don't have beep media player right now,i wanna install it.
but i can't find it in 'soft manage' tab.
i've refreshed those URLs already, but when i typed bmp in search box and search it, system can't find any item.why is that ?
That would be because no-one has added an rpm of bmp to the sites you're using as your installation sources.
You can try www.rpmfind.net or www.rpmseek.com that might have the rpms you need, otherwise you'll have to install from source, which would be the more complicated but better option.
