will I corrupt IE and WMP if I update WINE

Hi,

I was trying to update wine the other day before I installed IE and WMP on my suse 9.3 system. I dl package

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/w...6.rpm?download after uninstalling the previous wine with yast and then installed this package with yast, but it did not work.

I used http://sidenet.ddo.jp/winetips/config.html to install IE and WMP but I am having problems with flash flickering and some programs not working on wine, so I wish to update it.

So my questions are:

Can I just use yast to update wine or do I have to uninstall and install the new wine, and will it corrupt the IE and WMP?

You can just uninstall wine and install the version you were previously using. It in theory will not touch your ~/.wine directory.
