Angry Quicktime/WMP

How do I get support for Quicktime and Windows MEdia Player? I miss viewing trailers and Mplayer seems to freeze when it tries to view trailers. Is there a better program or what? It's frustrating that Web admins use propriatary file formats and not more standard ones.

did you install the win32 codecs? you can get them from mplayer's site. you could try xine and on one of them 3rd party links, there is a site that is offering the xine-mozilla plugin. funny thing is, that xine will use the same win32 codecs as mplayer does.
