i saw this table in another thread:

could someone please fill in the '?'s for me..? or actually just the resolution for a 1280x768 screen - which is not in the table..

It may be that the vesafb device (which is configured by the vga= option) does not support widescreen resolutions.

If the kernel supports a specific frambuffer device for your graphics card, you could try to replace the vga= parameter by video=<driver>:<xres>x<yres>[-<bpp>][@refresh].

weeeeellll - i actually have seen - at a previous install - with the same resolution - a vga code similar to this format: 0x??? - but i simply can't remember that one..

sooo - maybe someone have that magic code for that resolution..?

I can't find a vesa mode-number for this resolution. But someone used this sucessfully:

thx for your effort :-)
in the mean time i did a repair session - and after rebooting and looking into menu.1st - i saw that it had set vga=31d..

out of curiosity i will try to enter what you found, to see if that works equally..
if not i can always re-enter the previous setting - or even do a repair again..
