Upgrading Gnome and KDE SUSE 9.1

I need to know how to upgrade to Gnome 2.10 and KDE 3.3 on suse 9.1?

Has anyone done this before, is there a guide out there?

Thanks,
Jon

see this thread (posts 1 & 10) for a how-to to install update sources for YAST.KDE 3.4 and GNOME 2.6 are the current versions.
this thread contains fixes for some of the update problems to kde 3.4

My guess is that now the 2.1 is out that the repositories will be updated before too long but as piscikeeper said GNOME 2.6 is currently in the supplemental GNOME repos.

When followed post #10 in the thread included above I tried using one of the mirrors and I get an error message.

'unable to create installation source from URL://ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_9.1/yast-source/'
Detals:ERROR(InstSrc:E_no_instsrc_on_media)
Try again?

I know that there is a source there because I can view it thru ftp.

What am I doing wrong?

Jon

Read this sticky -
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=253645

That errors means that there is something wrong with your path. Definitely don't specify the the hostname in the directory on server field. Read that thread carefully more of the responses are in regards to errors that are made while trying to update installation sources.
