Upgrading to Gnome 2.4 on Suse?

OK, I see that Suse has the RPMs for Gnome 2.4 available. Having upgraded KDE using Mandrake, I seem to recall that there is a proper way to go about upgrading without destroying things.
My question is, does anyone have any words of wisdom for upgrading my Suse 9 Gnome desktop to 2.4? Or do I simply download all of the RPMs from the site and have at it?
Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning toward the old "download and go" option. We'll see how it works.
