upgrade from SUSE 10.2 to 10.3 RATHER THAN CLEAN INSTALL. Is it possible?

I would much prefer to upgrade from SUSE 10.2 to 10.3, thus keeping all my settings and passwords and assorted crap, rather than doing a "clean install" - which I know IS the best way to do it, but it takes days or weeks to restore everything back to the way it is now, in 10.2
Has anyone done this and succeeded, without losing anything? I can only afford to lose my mind, as I don't want to lose all my settings and etc.

Please help if you can.
Many thanks for you assistance.....

Thumbs up Upgrade to 10.3 from 10.2

Hi mrmuckle,

The Upgrade procedure is relatively straightforward.

NOTE : Possible Problems
1. You will face some Issues in case your repositories do not have 10.3 in their distribution version list.

2. Java Plug in is a bit of an Issue.

I upgraded from 10.2 to 10.3 and did not face major Issues except the JAVA Issue as mentioned above.

Best of luck with the upgrade.

Hi,
I upgraded from 10.1 to 10.3 on a laptop and a desktop.
Stuffed up both machines; but in different ways, which
I find most peculiar.
Results were so bad it has cost me nine days so far,
even after reformatting my hard disks and making new
installations. Still, can't 'send' my e-mail and my
desktop keeps hanging (button reset required).
So - back up!
And, good luck.
Colin
