Unusual disk activity
I'm running SuSE Linux 9.2 with an upgrade to KDE 3.4 on a 2.8Mhz/1Gb machine. Since I went to the 9.x series I have a funny disk utilization. Every 5 seconds the disk does what I assume is a small seek/read or write and I get the following message in the log:
Apr 18 11:17:30 cm-85-152-80-82 kernel: SFW2-INext-DROP-DEFLT IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=00:01:03:dd:4a:d3:00:30:b8:c1:4d:30:08:00 SRC=85.138.0.251 DST=85.152.80.82 LEN=48 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=115 ID=23940 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=1128 DPT=135 WINDOW=16384 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 OPT (020405B401010402)
Every 10th or so time it does a longer task. This can't be good for the disk mechanism and I can't figure out what is happening. Can anyone offer any insight or help and can I disable whatever it might be?
