Suse 10.2 - System over heats

Installed suse on a slot478 PIV motherboard with a 3.0Ghz (MSI Chipset SIS) and system shuts dow after a while due to CPU over heating... :S
That didn't happen when installed on th previous board a PIV 1.7ghz.
Any ideias how to set motherboard or OS to avoid this?

Most likely you didn't install the CPU fan correctly. If it's a Prescott, you'll need a big fan!

Spray with a hose on hot days.or blow real hard but remember you need the covers off for this or the floor gets wet

Seriously ? you have some serious power going on there .Don't think software will help you have to cool the cpu with bigger fans or drop the speed till you find out how

The thing is: i have 2 more OS's on this pc and this only happens on suse.
And when it shuts down my graphic card and cpu fan are extremely hot.
I play source games and use other "heavy" programs on the others OS's with no problems.
I read once somewhere that somtimes this happens in linux.
Thanx for the replies.

This is definitely a hardware problem. Most likely you don't push the CPU in the other OSs as hard as suse does. Is your graphics card fan operating normally?
