Hi Gang.
Just wanted to find out the general consensus that most of you have concerning moving to 10.1. I was all prepared to upgrade from my present 10.0 version, but after reading a recent review that seems pretty balanced & accurate, I think I'll just wait at least until 10.2 :

I switched to SUSE from Red Hat a few years ago, and I certainly hope that Novell won't make a mess of things. So far, I think they've done very well but it sounds as if they might have rushed things a bit in several areas.
I'd be curious if many of the rest of you feel the same way as I do, and if there is a good way of giving Novell some honest & helpful feedback. I really like to recommend SUSE whenever somebody asks me about what Linux distro I like, but I certainly would not want a "newbie" to face some very strange problems in the newest 10.1 version.
As I normally do, I purchased a retail copy of SUSE 10.0 and it's worked just fine for me; it was very simple to install, all of my various components are working fine (video, sound, printing, etc.), and I see no need to switch to a newer version if certain key features are somewhat buggy.
Anywho, just wanted to get a "show of hands" from everyone else and find out if we can all give Novell some good encouragement to do a good job of cleaning things up. As far as I am concerned, we shouldn't have to do a significant amount of "tinkering" with a major upgrade unless we just like that sort of thing.
I'm more than ready for Linux to kick MicroCrap off of every single desktop in the known universe, but releasing somewhat shaky new versions of SUSE really doesn't help very much.
JMHO & Talk at ya later . . .
