As far as I know linux only deletes windows if you tell it too, might as well read a bit more or ask before you go installing then or know what you're doing. And nothing will work with it? Are you trying to run windows programs on it?

What? To have Linux suck?

You might want to have somebody else try this first - might be dangerous.

Your comment about linux is a matter of opinion ... I just love my Linux box ;-)
As per removing Linux from your HD the correct way to do it, as far as I know, is to boot using the linux CD then using fdsik remove the linux partition.
After that you can run the windows installation and tell it to format and use all the HD. That's it you are back to Windows ...
With all due respect, though, Linux did not do anything you did not ask it to do ... if the windows partition was deleted it was your choice at install time. In fact SuSE default is to run both Windows and Linux on dual boot mode.

Hope this helps.

I think it'll be fine, linux doesn't do what you don't want. So you'll be fine unless you do rm -rf /your/reproductive/organs

He'll come back.

He'll re-discover the joys of Windows again soon enough.

If you really want to go linux you should read some before even starting and keep your windows installation next to it. Don't just dive into it since you can easily break things if you don't know what you're doing (as in formatting your windows drive)

My SuSE box is rock solid. I even run some windows applications on it...

Wrong place to say SuSE sucks! So I say leave this guy on his own with his lil M$ box.

Hey have you tried calling MS for support with that (i assume) stolen license you got?

Have fun your crappy box, security holes, and SP2. You just wait till Bill makes you pay for the upgraded SP's...

You can use windows to reformat the hard disk.

But why leave Linux? You must have accidentally clicked the wrong option when installing SuSE or something ...

SuSE rocks: anything that went wrong is not because "notting will work with SuSE".

Any why are you leaving Linux for a borrowed version of Windows? First of all, its Windoze, second it's pirated!

Greetings
(slightly off-subject)
I'm speculating that SP2 is turning into more of a mistake than *(gasp)* WinME......At least ME was able to get online :P.
Anyway, I've had Linux 'eat' partitions before. My experience was just that I wasn't paying attention when FC asked if I wanted to 'initialize my hard drives.' Any failure in Linux I've seen has been because of user error. But we're all learning. Windows is plagued with far more problems than Linux will ever have.
I run SuSE as well and I've found it to be almost a dream come true. NTFS support out of the box (yes, I unfortunately still have Windows. And legal too.) I'm trying to get NTFS write support to work as well .
Sorry for the mental wanderings.
