Hi. i'm using open suse 10.1
I experienced some problems with my wireless network card. The computer just completely froze, didn't respond to anything. I pushed the reboot button and booted, but now it just stops on different locations in the boot sequence.
It has stopped on these "events":
"Starting ssh daemon"
"Starting CRON daemon"

Once it didn't stop until the gnome was about to load.

Tried to boot with fail-safe, but that doesn't help at all.

I have another kernel (old, replaced when i needed support for wlan) wich boots fine, but then i can't use my wlan.

Suggestions?

You may have bad blocks on the system partition or the disk may have mechanical problems. Try booting a live cd linux and run fsck for whatever file system is in the system partition. If you are using ext2 you can use the -c flag during fsck to specifically look for bad blocks.
