I have installed the xine engine for amarok. My issue is, each time i start Suse i have to re-configure amarok to use the xine engine, instead of helix. How can i make xine the default enigine for amarok?
Strangely, KDE configurations may exit on three different locations. Check /etc/opt/kde3/share/config and /opt/kde3/share/config if other versions of amarokrc exist. Maybe there's an override of the user settings.
hmm, no amarokrc file in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config. However i do have amarokrc in /opt/kde3/share/config, and this is how it looks.
Code:
[General]
XMLFile=amarokui.rc
[BrowserBar]
CurrentPane=ContextBrowser
[PlaylistColumnsLayout]
#see PlaylistWidget::setColumnWidth() for explanation for below
ColumnWidths=0,200,100,100,0,0,0,0,0,80,0
[KNewStuff]
TargetDir=amarok/themes
Uncompress=application/x-gzip
ProvidersUrl=http://amarok.kde.org/knewstuff/amarokthemes-providers.xml
as far as i can see, theres nothin related to xine being an issue. Could the problem i'm having, have something to do with permissions, and thats why the xine-engine doesnt load at startup? Just a thought.
sorry it took so long to reply, im working on trying to get an ftp server running on another box......arrggghh
