yast control center>network devices>network card
run through the setup and use dhcp.
it's surprising suse isn't detecting it automaticly, when i switched from dial-up,all i did was reboot.

I worked on it yesterday after work and got it working. Thanks for your help
All I do know is when I boot up the kinternet plug icon shows up and then I right click on it and click on dial out or is dial in and then instant connection.

I do wish it would show my connection speed or auto dial and connect for me once I am fully booted into suse.

Thanks

hmmm......odd.it should connect at boot.did you configure the net-card,dsl modem,or both?
there are quite a few apps to monitor network traffic available, gkrellm and KSysGuard come to mind.

yast control center >> network devices >> network card
this should be the only field where anything is configured.just set it to use automatic address setup (via dhcp).
when suse boots,it should bring up eth0 automaticly.
