Saving to XP partition from SuSE10...possible?

There are times when I want to write something to my XP partition for safe-keeping (before a kernal update...saving email). I can "read" from the partition but I get an error message when trying to write/save to it. The error message is generic...ie..."Could not write to {path}".

Can someone tell me why this is and how I can change this. Thanks.

Writing to NTFS is only experimental in Linux meaning that its dangerous to implement on stable releases, so this option is usually omitted. You can compile a kernel yourself that has the NTFS write ability but you can end up messing up your Windows partition if you use it.

Probably NTFS - do a search on "NTFS write".

Best solution is to create a FAT32 partition and use that to exchange data.
