saving and not saving sessions on desktop

Hello All:

I've managed to ween myself from the MS os and have a host of questions. One thing that bothers me is that the desktop always opens w/ the same apps. I'm using RH 7.3 w/ kde on the desktop, and I'd like to control what opens and what does not on bootup.

Right now it's kmail, kscd, konqueror and console.

PS the save session for future use checkbox is unchecked, although I did have it checked for a few bootups.

Thanks,
ergo_sum

Try checking the box and closing the session with no apps open.

Thanks, but I've done that quite a few times--and in addition--as is posted--the box for saving desktop session is umchecked.
