I have stopped using those tools. I use a virtual machine. Create a vm and don't create a hard drive. Boot the vm to the iso of suse. Attach the usb to the vm and load the os to the usb.
You just can't reboot to the usb yet in the (easily) vm so test it on your full system.

Some older usb drives may be an issue. Some usb 3 ports and usb can cause issues. 12.3 finially fixed my usb 3.
