I solved all the problems , but still the problem that it halts while booting with the above messages.
any help with that !!!
Have you tried booting into the failsafe kernel? If so, your best bet may be to insert your DVD and do a system repair.
As for HOW that is done, your guess is as good as mine. It was something i attempted to solve another problem, but i didn't quite know how to use the repair mechanism. However, i'm certain that there is documentation available for that. My problem turned out to be something simple, and i didn't need to pursue a system repair.
[QUOTE=salasi;4799455]No. What did you download? the CD or DVD edition, Live or not, etc. here isn't enough room on the CD for both, so the CD is either one or the other, but the install DVD can install both or more.
Hi salasi
I used install DVD downloaded from SuSE's mirror (Australia - Internode). I cannot do multiple select when it comes to desktop either. Although this is not much of an issue to me as compared to all the other nightmares I've had since installing 12.2 three weeks ago. I have no regressed back to 11.4 to catch updates before support ends and then I will decide whether I'm game enough to give 12.2 another try (not optimistic) because I do believe there are bugs somewhere along the update lines for 12.2

1) It did not allow me to install both KDE and Gnome? I had to choose between them?
2) Where do I get new software installed from, it does not have emacs, mplayer, xine, gcc,g++, ... .
And it does not have apache, php, but is the only distro with mysql installed.
3) I have seahorse installed but don't know how do I use it to get the default keyring?
4)When I try to run totem, it says that there are missing codecs, where do I get the codecs from ?
man
That's true Mint KDE 13 have the drivers, Any place where the drivers to be found?
older versions of mandriva had the totem drivers, I guess they
have taken them out.
