SuSE has its own built-in firewall based on iptables. If it's enabled Firestarter won't start. If you still want to use Firestarter then disable SuSE firewall through YaST

Tried it, and it still does not work, i restarted the computer, i restarted the internet connection, what else can i do?

I need firestarter because i don't know how to use internet connection shareing with the SuSE one.

I tried to do it with Yast and the DHCP configuration tool but that just gives me an error

Is the IP tables being used a customised version just for suse or something?

And the YaST configuration says that Firewall is disabled? If still negative then try to configure YaST firewall to use shared connection. It has gui wizard.

You can start the firewall from console in superuser mode. In this case though you'll have to keep the terminal open
