need help reinstalling lilo and boot cds

Ok heres the deal: there are a few steps to this issue so i would appreciate it if you guys and gals could help me on each one step by step. I am pretty new to this whole game. Well I want to uninstall my linux partition and merge it back into my Windows XP partition NTFS. Then I would like to repartition to build into a smaller linux partition and reinstall. I know that sounds wierd but i am a wierd guy! lol but anyways. So I decided to restore the mbr back to windows style, so i went into the dos prompt when i booted from my windows xp restore dvd that came with my Toshiba laptop and typed in fdisk /mbr. Well that got rid of lilo for sure but when i fired up PartitionMagic on windows, i got an error 117 saying that PartitionMagic could not read one of the partitions drive letter. So now, i want to know how i can reinstall lilo. Is there any way i can do it from Windows? Or do i have to use a linux bootdisk to be able to install lilo again? The reason why i want to reinstall lilo is because i do remember reading that Yast2 has a feature that will allow me to delete the partition and merge it back into the main partition all from yast2. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Well which linux bootdisk do i use? Should i use the Suse 9.1 linux installation cd that i burned the installation image on a while back? If yes, how do i use it to reinstall LILO? If not, how do, and where do i find a good yet simple enough linux boot cd to be able to get into a linux prompt and reinstall lilo?

Hmm... Lots of folks have had serious troubles getting SuSE to coexist with Windows... so you have your work cut out for you to begin with.

As far as installing LILO, the only way that's going to happen is booting from Linux install media (such as your SuSE disks), or having someone boot you across a network, which would result in the same end state: booting to Linux to install LILO...

I'm not familiar with LILO anymore, as I now use GRUB...

Merging your partitions together? I'm not exactly sure I know what you mean. Linux does not like to run from NTFS, I believe... and this is futile anyway, since ext3 is journaled... Can you paint a clear picture of the system you want to end up with for me, so I can at least get an idea what you want to do with it?
