Add Packman to Yast should solve dependencies

Open the control center.
Click YaST modules
Click Software
Click Change Installation Source
Click Add
Select http
Put packman.iu-bremen.de in the site field
Put suse/9.1 in the path field
Click OK

Search for Mplayer then install through Yast

hmm well that installed it, but now it just wont run. what i mean is when i click on the MPlayer icon in the "start" menu, it just shows that the program is initializing (with the spinning hourglass) but then the program doesnt come up at all. Any ideas?

oh ok i havent tried that Yast Suggestion ill install it thru yast and hopefully things will work smoothly!

ok i was able to successfully install mplayer thru Yast but now there is another problem. When i try to play a video file it gives me this error

Error opening/initializing the selected video-output device (-vo)

what should i do?

ok now the mplayer is playing my DVD, but there is only one more problem: the audio/video language is in FRENCH! i dont speak french, nor do I understand it, is there any way I can change the language back to english?
