While trying to upgrade from KDE 3.2 to 3.3, YaST installed some of the components before it froze on the KDElib... file. I just can't get past that part of the installation. Now my KDE 3.2 doesn't work as well as it did before.
Is there anyway to reverse the updates that I made so that I can start again? I really want to upgrade to 3.3.
I would go to the suse website and grimly install everything on there for KDE3.3 - starting with qt, then arts - if you've screwed something up already, yast might complain when you try and update, but as the kde3.3 set from there works - I know I'm using them, just igonre the dependencies. By the time you get to the other end you should have overwritten the problem stuff
Take a look at http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/
It's a much better way of doing upgrades and it just works. Upgrading from 3.2 to 3.3 and just recently 3.3.1 was a breeze. I very rarely, if ever, use YOU (YaST Online Upate).
Ok, so I downloaded the APT packages. Now, when I try to install it with rpm -Uvh, it says that all these lib files are needed--it's a huge list. This is so frustrating...I can't even install a simple program without running into problems.
