1. "File sharing" is easy
Google for "samba"
2. I'm not sure if you just need to "share files" (which is a no-brainer), or
if you have some requirement to coexist with Netware and/or Netware's
underlying IPX/SPX network transport.
I'm sure Novell would be able to answer any informal questions about
a "migration strategy" from Netware to Linux.
3. SuSE Linux Enterprise is quite possibly overkill: you might easily be
able to get by with SuSE Professional.
4. By "NDW", do you mean "Norton Desktop"? If so, there shouldn't be any
need to use Norton Desktop over Windows Explorer (for Windows clients) or
Nautilus or Konqueror (for Linux clients).
Most of all, I'd encourage you to get a copy of Linux (e.g. SuSE Linux professional) in-house, install it, and play with it.
The best thing you can do before investing in a new infrastructure is to familiarize yourself with Linux, first. Experiment. Ask questions. Then you'd be in a much better position to decide how best to migrate from Netware.
